Note:
- This is a six-part certificate course (15 instructional hours).
- This course is limited to 20 participants.
Description:Participants will gain a thorough understanding of a variety of social skills training strategies. Weekly topics will include: assessment tools; advanced Social Stories; scripting for conversation skills; strategies to facilitate peer interaction and social skills groups. Presentation style will include lecture, discussion and small group work. There will be a practical final assignment that will consolidate the course content into the development of an ISP (Individual Social Plan).
Contingent on regular attendance, participation in practical group exercises and achieving a satisfactory grade for the assignment, participants will receive a Autism Intervener Certificate course Level 2 certificate from Geneva Centre For Autism.
Participants must have successfully completed the Geneva Centre Intervener Course – Level 1.
In order to complete the assignments at a satisfactory level, it is necessary to have current access to an individual with an ASD. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure such access.
